Manchester United are reportedly in contact with the representatives of Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
The Red Devils have made two high-profile signings in Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho during this summer’s transfer window.
They are not actively looking to make another big-money purchase, but The Mail claims that they are in contact with Tchouameni’s agents.
The 21-year-old made his breakthrough with Monaco last term, registering three goals and four assists from 42 appearances in all competitions.
He went on to impress for France at the Under 23 Euros. His progress has also caught the eye of several clubs including Chelsea.
Chelsea see him as a cheaper alternative to Declan Rice, but they could face competition from the Red Devils for his services.
Both clubs could be involved in a bidding battle for the midfielder before the transfer deadline. He is likely to cost upwards of €40m.
Tchouameni can play anywhere in midfield, but prefers to operate in the defensive position. He has three years left on his contract.
